Prince Township Family Fun Run and Fun Day

The Prince Township Family Fun Run and Fun Day included a number of activities for all. The day started early with a 5 KM fun run/walk for individuals and families, as well as a 13.5 KM race for those a bit more serious. Prizes for the run were donated by many local businesess. The run was followed by a pancake breakfast in the Township Hall. Morning rain might have dampened the ground, but didn't dampen spirits. Early afternoon the skies cleared and the fun continued. Activities included us tours of the Wind Farm - courtesy of Brookfield Power. The Steelworkers Fun Park was cancelled due to inclement weather in the morning. Aardark the Magician entertained young and old. Also on hand was Cathy Collins with some of the birds from Cherished Wings Parrot & Bird Rescue Inc. Other activities for the kids included a prize fish pond, and face painting. The Prince Museum and buildings were open for the public and displays were set up by community service organizations. There was also a book sale and bake table, as wll as a silent auction.
Activities were mainly by donation with proceeds to go towards the purchase of equipment for the Township playgrounds and for the Summer Day Camp.
