Race for the Cure

Saturday June 13th, 2009 was a special day at Laird International Raceway.  At the end of the day, we held the Race for the Cure, in support of Breast Cancer Research.  Twenty Nine local women went out and got business sponsors and pledges, then for their first time, hopped into Stock Four cars owned by LIR drivers and had a blast.  Three heat races were held with 9 or 10 cars each, then the top four from each heat went on to race in a feature.  The top finishers in the event were Lori Fera with the checkered, Kim Briel with the second place trophy, and Birgit Kroll in third.
